"EKOklass" show "Foxtrot" and young naturalists Ukraine
March 12-14 at the National Environmental-naturalistic center (NENTS) Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine for the first time held a "Competition for young naturalists" -2014 as the national phase of international competition
Creative task of the tournament - the development of its own environmental project - delivered to students initiator competition "EKOklass" Gennady Hispanics and organizer - trading network "Foxtrot". The national stage of international "tournament for young naturalists" attended five winning teams, which were identified among 26 school groups of the country at the correspondence qualifying stage of the tournament. In the conference hall NENTS school teams from Sumy, Donetsk, Khmelnitsky, Chernigov and Kiev areas defended their projects created within the social project "EKOklas" and defended them in scientific discussions with members of the jury.
- It is important to support initiatives of students participating in our project to preserve the environment, but it is equally important to draw public attention to the problem of environmental irresponsibility and foster public policies aimed at improving the environmental culture among children and youth, - said Vyacheslav Povroznik, executive director of the trade network "Foxtrot". - Therefore, our social project "EKOklas" became part of the system work NENTS MES and the subject of cooperation with specialists from the ministry and "Foxtrot" - partner "Tournament young naturalists", which is a great format to develop respect for nature in children.
The participating teams' tournament for young naturalists "were different in composition, age and content of their environmental projects, but showed the same high level of work and desire to win. Jurors gave the victory to the project "Contributing", realized the team "DunNaturalists" from Dunaevcy Khmelnitsky region. Experts have estimated the practical significance and mass public involvement in the implementation of the project - not just home school peers, teachers and clubs, but also the residents of his district.
- Learned of the threat posed by improperly utilizirovanye batteries, we decided to carry out his contribution to the solution of this problem at the city level. Residents actively responded to our initiative, quickly filled containers set together with information posters at entrances of homes and schools. Already after the first day of the implementation of our shares in the receiving station was commissioned 160 batteries. For comparison, in the previous three months, the amount handed over the batteries into a single collection point for batteries in the city amounted to only 40 pieces - told member of the team "DunNaturalists" Ilona Miller.
- The idea of the project "Contributing" and methods of implementation, including questionnaires and educated about the dangers of improper disposal of hazardous waste were appropriate - shared his impressions jury member Anna Kornienko, senior researcher activities extracurricular institutions the Institute of Education Sciences of Ukraine , PhD. - Students and adults responded to the initiative sponsors, and members of the jury appreciated this feedback.
Following the tournament team - winner «ol13ena» - Krasnoarmeiskii team training - Educational Complex Donetsk region will represent Ukraine at the finals in Bulgaria, April 29 - May 5, 2014, which will compete with each other team of young naturalists from around the world. A social project "EKOklas" will continue to gather supporters, capable of real adult acts in order to preserve the environment - and their award winners May 12 this year.
