The managing company of the network is FTD-Retail LLC. In 1994, the business was founded by Ukrainian entrepreneurs Gennadii Vykhodtsev and Valerii Makovetskyi.
The problem faced by the company
Since 2008, the company has been systematically helping state authorities and specialized services and ministries, cooperating with the departments of the State Emergency Service, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Education and Science for training and prevention of Ukrainians' support for their security within the framework of its own social project "Safety School". About 900 "safety lessons" were conducted jointly with the State Emergency Service and more than 1 million views of the educational cartoon "Fox and Trot rush to the rescue" about safety rules.From February 24, 2022, before the beginning of the full-scale invasion of russia into Ukraine, the company faced the question of not only the safety of business and customers in the occupied regions, but also the existence of the company.
Foxtrot, like the entire country, faced a complex of security, humanitarian and economic problems:
- the central warehouse in Gostomel was destroyed, the amount of damages – 600 million hryvnias
- 10 stores in 7 regions were looted
- 1,500 employees and the central office were relocated to Lviv
Problem solving
Foxtrot mobilized to protect the country and his own existence. Synergy with state and commercial partners has become a tool in the fight for Ukraine's independence and business survival.On February 24, 2022, the co-founders of GK FOXTROT decided to create an operational headquarters "Helping our people" to coordinate assistance to workers, military personnel and volunteers throughout the country. By this time, 100 employees were already in the ranks of the Armed Forces and Armed Forces, about 2,000 worked from shelters during the shelling, but the people of Foxtrot within 3 days organized a system of assistance to the resistance to the occupiers for the sake of Ukraine's independence and business development.

Partnership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In 2022, there was a transition to a system of monthly assistance based on official appeals by military commanders from all over Ukraine. For 2022, the Foxtrot team processed more than 1000 requests from all regions of Ukraine and provided assistance in the amount of UAH 19 million (taking into account the agreed budgets for October 2023).
From September 2022, the patronage of "Foxtrot" over the military units of the Air Force of Ukraine, which work in the air defense system of Ukraine as a separate direction of supporting the country's defense capability, began.
- 52 requests from 10 military personnel from 10 regions of Ukraine
- 278 units were transferred. equipment for air defense needs in the amount of UAH 2.1 million
- Partnership with security structures (DSNS and National Police):
- provided with the equipment of the State Emergency Service and National Police for 38 requests from 12 regions of Ukraine in the amount of more than UAH 800,000.
- provided the necessary equipment for setting up 25 "points of invincibility" in 3 front-line regions.
- within the framework of the "Safety School" project in 2022, Foxtrot supported 10 educational events of the State Emergency Service, in which more than 5,000 children participated, the broadcast of videos from the State Emergency Service and Unicef on the safety of handling explosive objects on all the screens of the store network (more than 100,000 views).
- Partnership with like-minded business people. On the initiative of Foxtrot, the Euronics Group allocated 700,000 euros of humanitarian aid to Ukraine. Philips offset the cost of its appliances in the beauty and kitchen categories for 80 Foxtrot requests from military and volunteers. "Nova Poshta" within the framework of its own project "Humanitarian Post" ensured the delivery of Foxtrot equipment on request for the Armed Forces of Ukraine on 20 requests.
- Partnership with employees who joined the Ukrainian army. #RotaFoxtrot. By the end of 2022:
- 180 employees of the Foxtrot network stood up for the defense of Ukraine in the ranks of the Armed Forces.
- 60 items of equipment worth UAH 300,000. transferred to fellow defenders.
- Partnership with NGOs:
- 58 charities and public organizations received help from Foxtrot
- 92 requests for the amount of UAH 1.2 million
- 100 tons of humanitarian goods were delivered with the support of Foxtrot, within the framework of cooperation with the "Mizhhirya" humanitarian center in Zakarpattia region.
- Partnership with corporate volunteers. Since 2014, Foxtrot has had a corporate volunteer movement "I want to help", which united employees in helping our military.
From February 24, corporate volunteers initiated the following actions:
- 19 furniture cabinets and bedside tables and 36 sets of tables from the main office of Foxtrot GC were handed over to "Ploskiv Lyceum" in Kyiv region, which was destroyed by russian troops.
- 30 kg of products, 10 kg of animal feed, hygiene products, clothes and shoes, small household appliances, dishes and kitchen utensils, toys and children's books were given to 14 families from 6 villages and towns of the Kyiv region, Makariv district, who lost their homes;
- 16 items of office equipment (tablets, laptops and multifunctional devices) corporate volunteers of "Foxtrot" handed over to 9 military units of the Armed Forces.
- UAH 6,000 received by corporate eco-activists of the Foxtrot Group of Companies in the "DalECOglyadni" rating (https://bit.ly/3XH27KN) for handing in waste paper before the war, transferred to colleagues from #RotaFoxtrot for the purchase of a quadcopter and a laptop.
- 300 GKF employees joined the campaign and created a photo postcard "Thanks to you, Ukraine has independence" until August 24.
Results of the Foxtrot program "Dopomoga nashym" in 2022-2023:
The partnership of different levels and spheres became the driving force of confronting the most serious challenges of the country's military situation and made it possible to preserve business. Foxtrot endured, feeding the country's economy and supporting the defenders of Ukraine.Today, Foxtrot is:
- 114 operating stores in 65 cities of Ukraine (in March 2022 – there were 80)
- 1 new central warehouse (instead of the burned warehouse in March) and
- 13.1 million buyers (12.4 million in March)
"Each of you is a fighter who, with his work, is bringing Ukraine closer to victory in this war", – this is how the Chairman of the Board of Founders of the Foxtrot Group of Companies Gennadii Vykhodtsev and the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the "Foxtrot" network Valerii Makovetskyi summarized the work of the business in 2022-2023.
On January 6, 2023, the executive director of "Foxtrot" Oleksiy Zozulya was awarded the order of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny: "For a significant personal contribution to the provision of comprehensive assistance to the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, active volunteering in the conditions of martial law, I order to award the honorary badge "For the assistance of the troops" Oleksii Zozulyа."
On February 14, 2023, the chairman of the Foxtrot supervisory board Valerii Makovetskyi received the award "For assistance to the Air Force of Ukraine" from the commander of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Mykola Oleschuk.
