Foxtrot and Day - 7 years partners of photo exhibition

The ceremony of opening and rewarding the winners of the XX International photo contest "Day 2018" was held on October 25 in the Ukrainian Ukrainian House. 


The XXth Contest "Day" gave the name "Photo of the first page". The organizers selected photos with a bright journalistic accent reflecting the mood of the year, the quintessence of the important events of 2018. 


20 years of photo history - this is a colossal way, which was edited by the newspaper "Day" with 1500 photo professionals and amateurs (exactly the number of contestants during its time). In this way, the organizers not only opened their country to the Ukrainians (although for this they always thanked them in Lviv, Cherkassy, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Izmail, Chechelnik, Pryluky, Slavyansk, and other cities and towns). The competition also defined the "pain points" of the society and its "points of growth", showing the growing gap between the level of development of society and the political class and the evolution of the characters of the citizens, prompted what vitamins are needed for the harmonious growth of the whole Ukrainian community. 


This year, the jury of the competition from several thousands of photos sent selected the best, with the most striking photos were awarded with special awards. There were broken stereotypes about what the first column of the newspaper should be. The final exposition contains the photos of the traditional rubrics - "Politics", "Ukrainian World", "Photo with History", "World with the Eyes of Children".  


- The photo competition has become authoritative, and in this, in particular, the great contribution of honorary partners, who annually award valuable prizes to selected winners. The contest contributed to the emergence of new "photo stars", in particular, the participants of our first photo competitions became presidential photographers, such as Nikolai Lazarenko and Mikhail Markov, and winners of international grants programs, such as Alexei Furman, who received his first photo prize in the children's nomination of the International Photo Competition "The Day » Due to the "Day" photo exhibition, we have a visual history of Ukraine, "said Larysa Ivshyna, editor in chief of the Day newspaper.
